Choosing the right transfer size makes the difference between a professional finish and a print that looks lost or oversized. Here are the standard sizes and placements we recommend, plus how to measure so you get it right first time.
Standard print sizes & placements
| Placement | Adult | Kids / Youth |
|---|---|---|
| Full front / back | 28-30cm wide | 18-22cm wide |
| Left chest / pocket | 8-10cm wide | 6-8cm wide |
| Centre chest | 20-25cm wide | 15-18cm wide |
| Sleeve | 5-7cm wide | 4-5cm wide |
| Tote bag | 20-25cm wide | - |
| Hoodie front (below pocket) | 25-28cm wide | 18-20cm wide |
Sizes are guides - always consider the design shape and the garment size range you're printing.
How to measure
- Lay the garment flat and measure the printable area between the seams.
- For a full front, a good rule is to leave roughly 8-10cm from the collar and keep the design within the chest width.
- Size the transfer to the widest point of your design, then check the height looks balanced.
Placement tips
- Full front: centre horizontally; top of the design about a hand's width below the collar.
- Left chest: align with the midpoint between the collar and the armpit, roughly 18-20cm from the shoulder seam.
- Back neck: small prints sit 5-7cm below the collar.
- Kids wear: scale down proportionally - an adult full-front size will overwhelm a child's tee.
Gang sheets: fitting multiple sizes
If you're ordering a gang sheet, mixing sizes is where you save money - pack full-front prints alongside left-chest logos and sleeve prints to use every bit of film. Our builder shows the cost as you arrange, so you only pay for the area you use.
